The Christmas CD

This is a great album Smile I love it <3

Christmas Album

Excellent album! Now that I've watched the show on PBS, I'm going to buy the DVD that goes with it. My kids are about tired of listening to Christmas music right now but I love listening to all the group!

Just bought new CD

I bought the new Christmas CD last night and even though I do not listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving, I couldn't wait. I saw CT for the first time on PBS and fell instantly in love. My first impression of the CD was that I wanted more songs where they are all singing and harmonizing as that is what I LOVE about them. I haven't heard all the tracks yet as I listened to it on the way to work in the car, so on the way home, will finish it. I still like it, just thought more of all of them singing together would have been better.

Love it :)

I can't stop listening to it!!! Laughing out loud I wish that there were more Celtic songs on it...... but I love it!!

Christmas is my second favorite holiday but with the best music.
This cd did not disappoint. I loved the mix of music and the guys have such great voices. I only wish there were more tracks! I can't wait for the dvd to come out!

Quick Question

First off I LOVE this CD! but I was just wondering why the CD that QVC is selling is missing two of the songs that the CDs sold in stores have?

Because those 2 songs on the mass market CD are also considered bonus songs. Wink

Christmas CD

I love this album! I love silent night and baby its cold outside. It would be good if there was more celtic music on it:)

Baby It's Cold Outside

I can understand the point of view of fans who don't care for the mix of traditional Christmas carols with pop tunes (A Celtic Thunder CD of nothing but Christmas carols would be great), but my favorites on the Christmas CD are "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" -- especially the latter. It inspired me to go online and buy a Frank Loesser songbook for piano. I noticed that Celtic Thunder tweaked the original lyrics a bit, and the changes were for the better. Ryan Kelly's version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is so romantic, witty, and funny. He does a great American accent -- makes it sound sexy (and I'm American, so an American accent usually sounds plain vanilla to me). I realize a duet like this must have been planned with the precision of a military campaign -- the tempo, the coordination of the voices, the phrasing -- but the result is so seductive. Dave Cooke or whoever was in charge of this arrangement did a great job. And Charley Bird was really good too.
If Ryan's listening -- I would love to see you do a solo CD of American standards of this vintage,
which I love even though it's before my time (and I think people younger than me are getting into this type of music as well). Though today I received my copies of the new "In Time" CD, which is in a totally different style, and I loved that too.

Sure wish it was out in Canada.... still waiting...... just a few more days. I hate that we are almost a month behind.

Celtic Thunder christmas

The CD is available at all Borders with the DVD coming out right before Thanksgiving.

Silent Night and Ave Maria were great. Winter Wonderland and a couple others okay.
But I would also have preferred more carols and some Celtic Christmas Music.

Maybe next time.

Too Many

Too many pop/upbeat songs and not enough carols. I don't care for Silent Night and Ave Maria being sandwiched in between pop tunes. Ugh. These carols are just too beautiful for that.

grover I

agree totally with you. Loved ava maria and silent night--the rest is ok but not what I was hoping for. It is ok but I like other xmas cd's better.

Christmas CD

I found it in our Border's here in Virginia a couple of days ago.

I so enjoyed the opportunity to see the guys in Manchester NH. It was well worth the three hour drive that I made just to see them. Thank you for that wonderful experience. It was bittersweet as my mother died the next morning but I know she would not have wanted me to miss it. Your group is so good and they are pretty much all I listen to.

is this on itunes yet?!?!?!?

It sure is. Wink

Thank you, Ryan, for everything!!

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

A lot of PBS stations are planning their schedules right now for the coming months. You can always call your local station and request airing of the Christmas show. The more requests they get, the more likely the show will be aired and the greater frequently aired.

PBS stations

Let me tell you, not all PBS stations are alike. I got my whole person in the door of mine today, and let them know how disappointed I'am with what they offer us here in northern Ca. In March of this year they offered, It's Entertainment, CD and DVD only. I didn't even know what a meet and greet was. Granted, I live in a small town, but we love Celtic Thunder too. And, I think we should have the same pledge opportunities as everyone else. CT is not even on their schedule of possibilities for December 2010. I looked at it. Pitiful!! Long story short, I'am now a volunteer, and plan to do everything I can to get CT on our PBS schedule for next tour!!! Its to late for this year. Anyway thats what they told me. But, they haven't even picked their pledge line-up yet. Soooo, we'll see. I was up front with them, I said, "my reason for being here is to get more exposure for Celtic Thunder, and more opportunities for fans in this area! My position, is pretty much in your face, on a regular basis."I had a smile on my face when I said this, and they said, they would work with me on it. Wish me luck!!

Sometime in December? The show is currently in the editing room in London, so Sharon hasn't released the dates yet.
