Laura is a Scotland native and while growing up in Glasgow she began playing music and acting at a young age. Laura studied cello at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and gained scholarships as a junior student and a BMus (Hons) as a senior. Whilst completing her final year at the RSAMD Laura became involved in theatre and after graduating in June 2007 she started working as a dancer/cellist with the dance & physical theater company 'Gilmore Productions'. After two years of touring across the UK, from Penzance to Shetland, Laura was then invited to perform as an actor/cellist playing Emilia in a UK tour of OTHELLO (Icarus & Original Theatre Co) where both her acting and solo cello performance of Saint-Seans' 'Swan' received rave reviews across the country. Laura's stage performances range from classical recital, both nationally and internationally, to contemporary theater, and from cellist, session musician and composer to dancer and actor. Laura has also worked closely with the renowned Scottish composer Edward McGuire performing many of his Scottish, Chinese and Classical works with her cello duet 'Silk Strings'. She also works regularly with McGuire and had the pleasure of joining him in the 'Rhona Mackay Trio' (featuring cello, flute and harp/clarsach) on a National Trust cruise to the Baltic 2008 and Iceland 2009. Laura has worked with various other Scottish musicians including lead singer Stuart Murdoch from Glasgow's 'Belle and Sebastian', where she is featured on the front cover of his 'God Help The Girl' EP- 'Come Monday Night'. In 2010 - 2011 Laura played the lead actor/musician role 'Lila' in Philip Pullman's 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' with Birmingham Stage Company.
